EvalU: Evaluation Snapshot

Welcome to Capacity Canada's EvalU: Creating Cultures of Learning and Innovation!
Capacity Canada's EvalU would love to hear how you are currently practicing and using evaluation. Why would we like to know? We want to understand how to best strengthen evaluation capacity and foster a culture of learning and innovation within the Ontario nonprofit sector. EvalU strongly believes in driving social change by harnessing the power of learning to help organizations be more courageous, adaptive, and impactful.

How can I participate?
Take 15 minutes to complete this self-reflection survey about your non-profit's evaluation culture!

Why should I participate?

Use the questions and your responses as a starting point to reflect on your current evaluation practice and culture. And you can choose to have your responses emailed to you after you are finished! The self-reflection will provide you with an overview of:

  • Your organization's evaluation practices and culture
  • How evaluation is being used within your organization
  • Who is engaging in the evaluation process

How will this information help the non-profit sector?

Understanding current practice, use, and attitudes toward evaluation will help pave the road for strengthening evaluation capacity in the future. It will help us understand how to best support organizations to foster a culture of learning and innovation, which in turn will lead to greater impact in our communities.

We'll create an overall snapshot of current evaluation practice and use in the nonprofit sector in Ontario. The snapshot will help explore the following:
  • What are Ontario's non-profit current evaluation practices?
  • Who in organizations are engaging in evaluations?
  • How is evaluation being used within the non-profit sector?

How long will it take to complete? How will this information be used?
This self-reflection survey should take 10-15 minutes to complete. Your responses are completely confidential and will not be shared or linked back to you or your organization. Information collected will help create a baseline understanding of current evaluation practice, use, and attitudes towards evaluation in the non-profit sector in Ontario. Data will be aggregated to create a snapshot report and will be shared and posted online at: www.capacitycanada.ca/evalu.

This project is funded by the Government of Ontario.
